An electrical safety inspection identifies fire risks and code violations before they become emergencies. We check every aspect of your home's electrical system: panel condition, wiring connections, AFCI/GFCI protection, load balance, and grounding. Thermal imaging detects hot spots that indicate loose connections or overloaded circuits — the kind of problems that cause electrical fires.

The Details

What You Need to Know

Our inspection covers: main panel condition and brand identification (flagging Federal Pacific, Zinsco, and other problematic panels), breaker condition and proper sizing, AFCI protection where required by code, GFCI protection in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, outdoors, and basements, grounding electrode system, and a load analysis to identify overloaded circuits.

Thermal imaging is a key part of our inspection. An infrared camera detects temperature differences that indicate loose connections, overloaded wires, and failing components. These hot spots are invisible to the naked eye but can cause fires. We scan your panel, outlets, and any areas of concern.

We recommend inspections for: homes 25+ years old, homes with aluminum wiring (common in 1960s-70s construction), before and after remodels, when buying or selling a home, when adding major loads (EV charger, HVAC, hot tub), and after any electrical event (burnt smell, tripped main breaker, flickering lights).

Got Questions?

Electrical Safety Inspections FAQ

?How much does an electrical inspection cost?
Our Panel Safety & Capacity Evaluation is a flat $99 — no promo required. It covers your main panel and meter: load calculation, thermal check, AFCI/GFCI verification, and a written report with any findings. A more comprehensive whole-home wiring audit is scoped separately.
?How often should I get an electrical inspection?
Every 3-5 years for homes over 25 years old. Immediately if you notice warning signs: flickering lights, burning smells, warm outlets, frequently tripping breakers, or buzzing sounds.
?What are the warning signs of electrical problems?
Frequent breaker trips, flickering lights, burning smell near outlets, warm or discolored outlet covers, buzzing from outlets or panel, sparks when plugging in devices, and intermittent power loss.
?Is an inspection required when selling a home?
Not legally required in Utah, but many buyers request it. A clean inspection report can speed up the sale and prevent re-negotiation after a buyer's inspection finds issues.
