HVAC Install Technician

Utah County & Salt Lake CountyFull-time$25–$38/hr DOE + bonus

About this role

Our install team handles full-system replacements and new construction across Utah County and the Salt Lake Valley. You will work in a two-person crew most days, occasionally solo on smaller jobs, with a stocked truck and a project manager who clears the path so you can do clean, code-compliant work.

We do not run a commission grind on installs. You are paid for craftsmanship, not for upselling. If the customer needs a smaller system, you size them right.

What you'll do day to day

  • Install split-system AC, furnaces, heat pumps, mini-splits, and full system replacements per manufacturer specs and IRC/IMC code.
  • Run line sets, condensate, refrigerant piping (braze + nitrogen purge), low-voltage thermostat wire, and high-voltage feeds to disconnect.
  • Pull vacuum to 500 microns, verify standing, charge by superheat/subcooling, document readings on the invoice.
  • Commission and test the system: temperature split, static pressure, blower amps, gas pressure (for furnaces), zone-balance the registers.
  • Walk the homeowner through their new equipment — thermostat operation, filter location, what sounds are normal.
  • Photo-document the install for the customer file and warranty registration.

Requirements

  • Valid Utah driver's license with clean enough record to be insurable on a company vehicle.
  • EPA 608 Universal certification (or willingness to test within first 60 days — we pay for it).
  • Comfortable with brazing, refrigerant handling, sheet-metal work, and basic electrical (240V single-phase).
  • Able to lift 70+ lbs, work in attics/crawlspaces, and climb ladders safely.
  • Pass background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Nice to have (but not required)

  • NATE certification (Installation specialty).
  • Prior experience with Lennox, Trane, Goodman, or Daikin equipment.
  • Sheet-metal or HVAC trade school graduate.
  • Mini-split / VRF installation experience.
